Clean With Passion For Now Review

JTBC’s Monday-Tuesday drama has come to an end! This drama was anticipated since they announced Kim Yoo Jung as the female lead back in January 2018. It’s her first adult role and Yoon Kyun Sang’s first lead in a romcom! Despite the age gap, people still looked forward to the drama, but did it live up to the expectations?

The drama tells the story of O-Sol, a bright and charming girl who gave up on being neat after facing the tough reality of the world, despite her best efforts, she can’t land a job and kept on working all sorts of part-time jobs. Jang Sun Kyu has wealth and good looks but suffers from severe mysophobia. He is obsessed with cleaning and even owns his own cleaning company. O-Sol landed a job in Jang Sun Kyu’s cleaning company and with her help, Sun Gyeol stars to face his mysophobia and also falls in love with her.

I’ve been looking forward to this drama since its announcement, I love both leads so much especially Yoon Kyun Sang and I honestly wasn’t bothered with their age gap at all.

The drama started out really well, It was so funny and sweet, It was one of my favorite but all that was up till episode 13. After that, the drama was nothing but a waste of time with some fluttering moments and good kissing scenes. I don’t know if it was because of the too many breaks they took but the story became less exciting and just went downhill. The conflict and the break up between the leads was out of nowhere and a typical kdrama move. I was really laughing while they were crying, that’s how stupid the break up was (to me). She kept rejecting Sun Kyu and making him guilty of something that wasn’t his fault and he didn’t even do.

The second lead a.k.a the rooftop guy was really sweet but after the drama ended I felt his character was kinda pointless! It didn’t add much to the story and felt like it was a waste of Song Jae Rim! The bromance felt forced to me, I loved it behind the scenes but when they added it to the drama It was so out of nowhere and It just didn’t feel right! Also, I wish we got to see more of 3 cleaning fairies, their friendship with O-Sol was really cute!

What ruined the story, probably O-Sol getting fired and moving to live with
Jang Sun Kyu! Sure we were blessed with the best kissing scenes but to me that was when the plot started to go down. I think it would have been more fun if we got to see more stories from the clients like the first episodes and to see the couple working together!

Overall, I’m quite disappointed, I probably expected more from this since it really had the potential. The acting was good but the development ruined it. It was a sweet romance, had some funny scenes but nothing more.
Do I recommend it? Not so much, you can give it a try and see for yourself, It will for sure make your heart flutter but don’t expect anything more!

My Rating:

Overall: 6/10
Acting: 8/10
Story: 5.5/10
